Ever Been to a Chalaka?

A Chalaka? (see here)

And now read the invitation:-

Although we generally include in these newsletters only those events that
are related to our Synagogue, I am taking the liberty of inviting you to a very special event at the plaza of the Kotel Hamaaravi (the Western Wall) at 5:05 PM on Wednesday, the 16th of Tammuz (July 12). Elchanan Cohen will be three years old and will be given his first haircut. Why is this so special?

Elchanan's family (parents and 5 children) was returning from the Kotel on August 19, 2003 (21 Av) on the #2 bus, when a suicide bomb exploded on the bus, killing 23 and injuring more than 100. The Cohen Family members were among the injured. The last survivor, found alive under dead bodies and suffering from a broken hip, was one-month-old Elchanan Cohen. For hours, after he and his one-and-a-half year old sister were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem, he remained unidentified, because his injured parents had been rushed to Shaare Zedek.

Now, almost three years later, the family is still in need of continued medical care but they are filled with gratitude to Hashem for the gift of life and a promising future for each of the children. Elchanan is now getting his first haircut. The family invites everyone to their simcha. May they have many more simachot and see much nachat from their entire family. (For further information, you may call Ora
Cohen at 054-647-0852.)

So, if you are in Jerusalem next week...meet at the Kotel on July 12 to participate!
