The Galvinising Force of the Irrational

In a book review by Chris Petit on five new books on the Nazi era, I found this line:-

[Angela] Lambert points out, in this readable biography [of Eva Braun], that the Nazis' secret weapon was the galvanising force of the irrational. This loss of reason translated the previously unthinkable into execution

To my mind, Jews are still suffereing from this phenonemon which today affects many in the liberal, progessive camp who allow the irrational aspects of Islam and Iranian genocidal tendencies to overwhelm them and even, unfortunately, to excite them in a way we haven't seen since the late 1930s.

Are we doomed that history should repeat itself before our eyes?
