Miscellaneous

Elbaz is so-o-o-o fashionable:

Alber Elbaz, the Israeli-born [nope. Moroccan-born], American-trained designer at Lanvin, received the Légion d’Honneur today in a small ceremony at the Ministry of Culture. After the red ribbon was pinned on Elbaz’s chest, he said he no longer knew where he belonged — not in Israel, not in America, and, he admitted with a smile, he had doubts about France. He then offered that he belonged to the world of women. Yet, wherever Elbaz has gone in his career he has had the support of two men: Ralph Toledano, the Chloé chief executive, who hired him years ago at Guy Laroche; and Pierre Bergé, who put him at Yves Saint Laurent. They attend his Lanvin shows, and they were in the crowd today.

Here.
