Father Gets Short End

Father Sues After Exclusion from Son's Brit

A man from central Israel sued his estranged wife and her lawyer for damages Sunday, after he was forcibly distanced from his own son's brit (circumcision).

According to the lawsuit, the father arrived at the brit and was shocked to discover that his wife's lawyer was also serving as godfather in the ceremony. When he objected, he was presented with a court protection order that the lawyer/godfather had prepared in advance.

The mohel left the premises but was replaced by another mohel whom the lawyer had also arranged for and the brit was conducted without the father.
