And the Rabbi Got Married

Rabbi Elianna Michal Yolkut, the daughter of Rhona and Myron Yolkut of Riverdale, the Bronx, is to be married on Sunday to Sara Leib, the daughter of Bonnie and Roger Leib of Los Angeles. Rabbi Aaron Alexander is to perform the ceremony at Adat Ari El, a synagogue in the Valley Village district of Los Angeles where Rabbi Yolkut is the assistant rabbi.

Rabbi Yolkut, 31, graduated from Brandeis. She received a master’s degree in rabbinic studies from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, where she was also ordained.

Ms. Leib, 26, is a jazz singer in Los Angeles and an instructor of jazz vocal performance at the Los Angeles Music Academy, a music school in Pasadena, Calif. She graduated with an associate’s degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston and received a bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.

And my question is: why did a male Rabbi perform the ceremony? Or was this a rainbow coalition?
