Is That Kosher? Or Is Obama just Hogging It?

"That's not change," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering.

"You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig."

The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called 'change,'" Obama continued, "it's still gonna stink after eight years.

Kosher or not, seems to be a bit misogynistic, no? Is Obama trying to hog it?

Most people agree that Obama wasn't referring to Gov. Palin but are quick to chastise him because he didn't state to the audience "I'm not talking about Gov. Palin. That's so stupid! How can anyone make the assumption simply because the audience applauded that "they" felt he was taking a stab at her. The world is watching. And we're not setting a very decent example. Such a great display of international interest and all we can talk about is lipstick, pigs and pitbulls. What happened to America?

Aren't we very lucky then that Joe Lieberman isn't the VP candidate? I mean, Jewish and pig really don't go together.
