Shalom! You haven't given an opinion on this picture and I'm interested to know what you think. Are we supposed to be proud of this? Don't they know that they belong in Israel and not going around Washington as court Jews? I'm disgusted. Did the Jews say mincha at Achashverosh's banquet also? Shabbat Shalom, Hadassa
Hadassa, you're so...so...delicate in your use of language. I think it's great that Jews can daven in public. I think it's great that Jews are willing to identify as Republicans. I think it's great that Jews can participate in the machinery of politics and government and don't have to sit at the gate or wait for Esther's bath to be finished. I think it would be better for as many Jews as possible to all live in israel, preferrably Yesha for the time being. Actually, at the baquet, I think it was the wine they tatsed that got them into trouble but I'll have to check that.
American born, my wife and I moved to Israel in 1970. We have lived at Shiloh together with our family since 1981. I was in the Betar youth movement in the US and UK. I have worked as a political aide to Members of Knesset and a Minister during 1981-1994, lectured at the Academy for National Studies 1977-1994, was director of Israel's Media Watch 1995-2000 and currently, I work at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. I was a guest media columnist on media affairs for The Jerusalem Post, op-ed contributor to various journals and for six years had a weekly media show on Arutz 7 radio. I serve as an unofficial spokesperson for the Jewish Communities in Judea & Samaria.
