Another Israeli Victim of "Random" Arab Terror

Israeli dies, another hurt after stabbed by Palestinian in Jerusalem

A Palestinian was shot and neutralized after stabbing an Israeli policeman and a 60-year-old passerby in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo on Thursday.

The passerby sustained critical wounds and was pronounced dead about an hour after the attack. The policeman has been listed in serious condition at the Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said two police officers on patrol in Gilo had stopped an Arab for questioning on the street when he pulled out a knife and stabbed one of them.

"The [wounded] policeman fired at the terrorist, but he continued to attack and stabbed a 60-year-old passerby, before he was apprehended," Rosenfeld said.

Arab kills elderly civilian, wounds cop in Jerusalem

A 86-year-old man was critically wounded and a police officer moderately wounded after being stabbed on Thursday morning near a school on Vardinon street in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood by a young Arab terrorist.

Police said that the assailant, a Palestinian, was stopped for inspection by a pair of officers, a man and a woman, when he pulled out a large knife and attacked the man.

He then escaped and while fleeing the scene stabbed the elderly man in the chest.

The officer, despite suffering stab wounds, managed to shoot the assailant several times and hit him in the abdomen.

Israel Radio reported that a man who was nearby overpowered the wounded terrorist who was escaping.

The civilian died despite the immediate and intense resuscitation efforts of the United Hatzalah medics who rushed to the scene. The policeman and the
attacker were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Karem Trauma Center.

The officer was in moderate to serious condition but conscious.
