A Pre-Yom Kippur Jewess Posting

Did you know that a bride, which includes a recently married one until the 30 day of post-nuptials, can wash her face on Yom Kippur so that her husband should not view her as undesirable?

The Mishnah of Tractate Yoma, Chapter 8:1, has taught that on Yom Kippur, while one must not eat, drink, wash, anoint oneself, put on sandals, or have sexual intercourse, a bride, like a king, may wash her face so that her husband should not think ill of her.

And the Shulchan Aruch decides:

Orah Chayim, 613:10

כלה כל שלשים יום מותרת לרחוץ פניה
