Way to Go, Rabbi!

Jenna Elizabeth Goldstein, the daughter of Linda Goldstein and Mark Goldstein of New York, was married Saturday evening to Robert Jasand Goodman, the son of Joni and Mark Goodman of Glencoe, Ill. Rabbi David S. Goldstein, who married the bride’s parents in 1974, officiated at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago.

The NYTimes weddings column is just great fro wonderful stories, like this one:

Mr. Schor kept careful watch over the accident-prone Ms. Silverstein.

He tried to plan for all contingencies when he decided to propose in September 2007. Their day began at a wine tasting in New Paltz, N.Y., to be followed by what had been billed as a birthday dinner for Mr. Schor in Manhattan.

As they prepared to leave New Paltz, “I slammed my finger in the car door, badly,” Ms. Silverstein remembered. The ring remained solidly in his pocket and they remained upstate as Mr. Schor tried to minister to Ms. Silverstein, who was bloodied and crying.

Once back in Manhattan, they entered the apartment they shared, which had been decorated by their parents with bouquets of flowers, rose petals and candles. “My accident postponed the engagement for hours,” Ms. Silverstein said.

Her finger was still throbbing when Mr. Schor proposed. “But, thank God, it wasn’t the ring hand,” she said.

And thank God for buses:

The next night it was Ms. Burnett’s turn to notice Mr. Abrams as he boarded a bus carrying guests to the wedding. She was immediately attracted to his “upbeat, optimistic, fun-loving personality,” said Ms. Burnett, also 30, a born-and-bred New Yorker who is a doctoral student in art history at New York University.
