Was It The Smoke That Made Him Think "Nazi"?

In the UK, a radio presenter has been suspended after he called a Conservative councillor a "Nazi" and an "ignorant pig" live on air.

An investigation was launched after the remarks, made by Jon Gaunt on his Talksport radio show, generated "a number" of complaints from listeners. Mr Gaunt was interviewing councillor Michael Stark about Redbridge Council's ban on smokers becoming foster parents.

Mr Stark said the welfare of young children should be put ahead of the needs of foster families. But Mr Gaunt, who was in care as a child, said the councillor was a "Nazi" and an "ignorant pig". He then watered down his criticism, instead calling Mr Stark a "health Nazi".

Mr Gaunt made an on-air apology to his guest at the end of the show.

He was then suspended pending an investigation into Friday's programme.

I guess some media people are stupid after all.
