She Was Lost, Maybe?

When I posted that

Madonna headed to Jerusalem's Old City late Sunday where she toured an ancient tunnel near the Western Wall - the holiest site where Jews can pray.

I was in a hurry and later, when I studied her photo again after seeing the televison clips, I realized that they fooled her.

She was taken to a tunnel which is about 200 yards from the Western Wall, which connects Rehov HaGuy (not Ritchie) to the Western Wall Plaza. It's only a couple of centuries old, if at that but it certainly is not an underground Western Wall Tunnel.

But, she's improving her religious style:

One Israeli paper reported Monday that Madonna even insisted that work on her huge stage should be suspended on Saturday for fear of desecrating the Jewish Sabbath.

But as for her (and Tzipi Livni's diet), I hoped the restaurant (*) was kosher but it isn't listed as such and the menu has meat and dairy mixed:-

The restaurant is located in an old building on noisy Allenby Street in what used to be an old exclusive furs shop. It has a lovely Italian style garden and a great ambiance in the evening. The menu is middle eastern and Moroccan style. Lunch Deals start from 43 NIS Sun to Friday 12 - 5.30 PM

Livni is secular and Madonna is Catholic, so, all in all, what can we expect. The good news is that she is bringing money into Israel and lots of good PR, so she is allowed a few digressions!

oops.

borderline

and all semi-official events like this should have a modicum of self-respect and I would include kosher among that.

"Madonna ordered salmon. I guess she does that whenever she goes to a treif restaurant."
