A New Sticker

WHEN THE DOVE OF PEACE COMES,
GUESS WHO HAS TO CLEAN UP AFTERWARDS

Story:-

The nationalist Cities of Israel (Mattot Arim) organization will begin distributing a new sticker in the coming days in an effort to counter heavy criticism of Israel around the world over the findings of the Goldstone report.

The sticker states: "When the dove of peace comes flying, guess who has to clean up after it?" The sticker shows an IDF soldier carrying what appears to be a "pooper scooper," which he apparently intends to use to clean up the "mess" left behind by the "dove of peace."

I do not think grammar rules require a question mark there.

I'm not sure I support the message. I think that it indicated that Israeli citizens/army eschew peace in favor of preventing terror through force. While that's certainly better than one alternative, it's clear to me that Israel would love if the dove of peace would actually land here. I think we need to stress that, and that our opposition to more concessions to the Palestinians is not opposition to peace, it's opposition to concessions that will not come close to bringing peace.

I won't argue on perceptions. But I'll point out that there is a deep cultural link in the message from the famous song that Rabin adopted and symbolized the pervading atmosphere that led to the concept of collapse by the Left:
