build the mishkan, forget about the temple. you shameless millenialist. doesn't shilo mean anything to you? a failed experiment, perhaps? the torah says nothing about a particular piece of land and commands us to build a MOBILE structure where god's presence can dwell. why doesn't anyone get this, it seems so simple.

shilo was destroyed only after the overconfident jews made the walls of the mishkan semi-permanent, thus saying to god in effect "you will no longer lead us, we are putting down roots". same thing with both temples. are people blind or stupid? i just don't get it.

I had an Isru Chag opportunity to survey the area today, with a fine group of fellow "Ascenters". Got to be careful though. Those shoelaces (non-leather footwear), can get you every time. One move towards tying them and you get a full escort off Har HaBayit.
