Amira Dor at Shdema: "The Process of the Mental Preparation of the IDF for the Expulsion of Jews Is Continuing"

Thursday: Greetings by Rabbi Levinger

The first conference at Shdema in Gush Etzion began with greetings by Rabbi Moshe Levinger, shlita, the father of the renewed settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria, and the drafter of the clear way to build, to build, to build! and, mainly, of compelling the government to building and settlement. The audience was greatly moved by hearing Rabbi Levinger, as clarion clear as 43 years ago.

Amira Dor

The first lecture was given by Amira Dor, a psychologist from Raanana, who is researching the mental preparation of the IDF for the expulsion from Gush Katif and northern Samaria. Dor argues that, today as well, the IDF is acting in the same manner, and the same psychologists continue to dictate the spirit of the IDF.

It is extremely important to read her book, We Won't Allow Again, in which she details the preparation process, that included psychological manipulations, in order to persuade and compel the soldiers to obey the expulsion order.

Mainly, it is important to read in the book how not to repeat the mistakes:

1) Not to play according to the rules.

2) The more tumult, the better. Upset systems. Maintaining order and discipline are disastrous for us.

3) Not to be friendly with the expellers - maintain distance and coolness.

4) An individual, too, can act and have an impact.

5) Not to confuse struggle with protest. Struggle means serious steps to frustrate the process.

Dr. Amira Dor's lecture was magnificently constructed and finely reasoned. The expulsion was revealed to be planned to the last detail - from the language that was employed, the use of the local and rabbinical leadership as an auxiliary for the expulsion, the use of deception as a central tool, to the brainwashing of soldiers and the tremendous confusion that if the expulsion were to fail, this would be the destruction of the third Jewish commonwealth.

Yossi Ben-Aharon

Amira Dor was followed by Yossi Ben-Aharon, the former bureau chief of Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir. In his lecture, Ben-Aharon clarified with stories from his term in office, and also as a consul in the Israeli embassy in Washington, the pressures that America has put on Israel since the end of the Six Day War. Since Israel made concessions, it invited further pressures. America needs Israel to advance its moves. It cannot apply pressure endlessly - this would not be received well by America's citizenry, most of whom are sympathetic to Israel. Only standing firm can maintain a strong Israel.

Dr. Mordechai Kedar

The last speaker was Dr. Mordechai Kedar, an Orientalist who says that we and the Arabs speak different languages. The values accepted by the Western world according to which we act are irrelevant in the Middle East. He defined what is happening in Israel as a democracy committing suicide.

Dr. Kedar once again raised the idea of dividing the Arabs into emirates by clans or families, that would impose order within the clan.

Summation of the first Thursday-Friday, and update of the second Thursday-Friday

About two hundred people from throughout Israel participated in the first Thursday-Friday at Shdema, that related to the destructive consequences of the peace processes.

The conference attendees came out with a single request in their mouths: these matters must be revealed, they must be brought to the public's attention, journalists with a conscience must be involved and divulge these unknown facts, they must, they must...

The second conference, that, with God's help, will be held this coming Thursday and Friday, will be concerned with "Leadership": Herzl, Eldad, and Abba Ahimeir. The Thursday-Friday organizers hope that the second conference with its focus on the subject of leadership, will put on the agenda what is most needed these days: leadership with a backbone, that will stand and fight for the interests of the people and the land.

The third conference, that will be concerned with the next generation and its place in the leadership, will raise the involvement of the participants in the processes and will harness them to action.

We expect to see you!
