City of David Research Conference

The annual City of David Archaeology Conference- the premier forum for Biblical Archaeology in Israel, brings together world renowned experts to share the newest research and discoveries about Ancient Jerusalem and the City of David. The public is offered a one time opportunity to tour active excavations at the site together with the most senior tour guides. Published works of scholars in relevant fields are available for browsing and purchase, including an academic journal published annually that features the archaeologists and experts who lectured at the conference.

Please note that the lectures are given in Hebrew.

The Twelfth Annual Conference
September 8th, the 9th of Elul

The conference is dedicated entirely to current research about ancient Jerusalem and the City of David. The best research experts and archeologists are brought together, sharing the results of their work on the site and their excavation digs with the public. Especially for this occasion, the excavation sites at the City of David are opened, and the general public is given a rare opportunity to peek at the rigorous field work. Tours led by the most senior tour guides will leave for the various sites. Research books about Jerusalem are displayed for perusal and purchase at the City of David for the benefit of Jerusalem lovers and fans of its antiquities.

Important Information

- The conference will take place in hebrew.

- Registration for the conference begins at 16:00 at the entrance to the City of David.

- Tours will be leaving starting at 16:00, on the base of available space.

- We will convene for the first lecture at 18:00.

- The conference is free of charge and advanced registration is not required.
