From the Embassy in Cairo to the Sinai Beaches

Translated from this article in Hebrew:-

"Remove the Naked Israeli Women from Sinai"

The details:-

Party founder and secretary-general of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt said: "We cannot be at our beaches in Sinai where there are naked women wearing bikinis. We must protect our youth from temptation...

Dr. Saad Allachtatni, founder and secretary general of the 'Liberty and Justice faction of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, announced this week at a conference of heads of Egyptian tourism, that his party demands to enact laws to limit the tourist beaches. "Can not be at our beaches in Sinai, where there will be naked women wearing bikinis," said Dr. Allachtatni. "We must protect the Egyptian youth, from temptation."

The Muslim Brotherhood explained this week that there are sites with huts between Nuweiba to Taba, such as Ras - Satan, Almhs and Bir Sawyer, where many Israeli tourists spend time. They say they do not intend to hurt tourism on the beaches of Sharm E-Sheikh hotels which attract every year millions of tourists from all over the world.

Sorry, no pictures.

How's that for sand in your eyes?

Just to be fair - in reading the statement in detail they call for limitations on bikini wearing in PUBLIC beaches in Egypt - something foreigners NEVER go to! For example, the US does not allow nude bathing on its public beaches and a European who is dying to sunbathe nude can go to a plethora of nude colonies in Florida or California. Much the same way - although I personally may not agree - large swathes of Egyptian society do not find bikinis to be desireable on the PUBLIC beaches; however, as the MB stated, they are not looking to place restrictions on any of the private beaches (read: hotels)... As an Egyptian, I go to hotels with foreigners which will never be limited and also frequent private Egyptian resorts with homes owned by Egyptians that I can also assure you will not be restricted.

Please be fair/honest in your reporting - things like this can deter potential tourists based on FALSE information and, for a poverty stricken country where over 10% of GDP (and much of the foreign currency) comes from tourism you are making people lose their livelihood.

Freedom of the process is a right - but I would hope journalists take the responsibility to report TRUTH and not push lies.

Much obliged... (PS - I am not a supporter of the MB in any way shape or form and push for liberal parties in Egypt to take the lead but truth is truth, regardless of how much falsely slandering my opponents or using their quotes misleadingly regardless of how much it may help me)

Thanks for clarification and of course, people who don't want to see women in bikinis should be able to be catered to.

Maybe they could use those israeli flags thrown from balconies to cover up the nakedness?
