Imagination is Why Obama's Vision Will Fail

President Barack Obama said in his Jerusalem speech, referring to a future state of "Palestine":-

imagine if you have a strong, independent state that’s peaceful

Mr. Obama, if it is strong, it will not be peaceful.

And as Lori Marcus wrote

Perhaps people have difficulty imaging that is because everyone in the Middle East knows it is not going to happen.  There will be no Jews working in those programs alongside the “well qualified, so talented” Arab Palestinian engineers in “Palestine,” because no Jew will be allowed in the state that he and so many westerners are trying so desperately hard to help create.

There has been a quasi-state of "Palestine" for almost two decades.

No proper democracy.

No civic society.

No transparency of government.

No independent judiciary.

Arbitrary arrests.

Embezzlement.

No free press.

Torture.

The list goes on, including incitement against Israel and let's not forget Hamastan in Gaza and all the happens there - in the name of Palestine.

Mr. Obama, no imagination required to see all this.  And you know this:

"Hamas cares more about enforcing its own rigid dogmas than allowing Palestinians to live freely," he said. "Too often if focuses on tearing Israel down, rather than building Palestine up."

We do not want to live in a dreamland.

We want to wake up after our dreams.

P.S.

Palestinian protesters raised their hands and tried to wave away the helicopter that brought U.S. President Barack Obama to the West Bank on Thursday, accusing him of siding with Israel. Around 150 demonstrators chanted anti-American slogans, saying they wanted weapons not presidential visits. "We want RPGs, not collaboration with the CIA," they shouted, referring to rocket-propelled grenades.
